   Your own jobs block it out

   You put your own work on the same calendar, and those days stop being bookable. One place to look, and no Saturday spent explaining to somebody that the machine they booked is already on a site.

   The hours are counted without you doing it

   A meter reading at pickup and one at return, and the hours a rental included follow the price it was built from, so ten days charged as a week includes a week of hours. New machines start at 8 hours a day. Everything over comes out at your own rate.

   One bill when it comes back

   Hours, fuel and anything broken are worked out together at check in, then taken off the deposit in a single charge, sent as a pay link, or marked paid if they handed you cash. Whatever is left of the hold is released the same moment.

   The deposit is a hold, not a charge

   Their card is held for the amount you set, and a clean return releases it with one button. Damage takes what it takes, up to the hold, with a note attached to the booking so there is no argument about it later.

   The agreement is signed before it leaves

   Your province's rental agreement is already written and it fills itself in from the booking. They sign it on their phone. If you already have your own wording, that is what gets used instead.

   A dump trailer they cannot collect

   Mark it as one you always drop off and the page asks for an address instead of offering pickup, and prices the run from it. Mark it the other way and it is a trailer somebody hooks up at your gate.

It is one machine and it is mine. Is this not overkill?

That is closer to the right size for it than twenty machines are. The scheduling side is for somebody juggling a fleet. At one machine it is the paperwork: an agreement you did not have to write, a deposit held properly, and the hours counted, without you keeping any of it in your head.

I need it Thursday. How does the page know?

Because you put Thursday on it. Your own work goes on the same calendar as the rentals, and those days stop being bookable. It is one calendar rather than two that have to agree.

What happens when they bring it back over on hours?

You type the meter reading at check in. It works out what the rental included, charges the rest at your rate, adds the tax, and takes it off the deposit in one charge, or sends it as a bill. You do not do any of that arithmetic.

I take a deposit in cash and hand it back. Why change?

You do not have to. Cash and e-transfer keep working exactly as they do. The card hold is there for the ones you do not know, and the reason to use it is that you are not holding somebody's money and it is not your problem to remember to give it back.

Do you talk to the machine, hours and so on?

No, and nothing here pretends to. The meter is typed in at pickup and at return, which is what you are doing when you walk around it anyway.

What does it cost?

Free to start, no card. The platform fee is 10% of what a customer pays online through your page, and only when you actually get paid. Stripe charges you card processing at your own rate, separately, the same as anywhere you take a card. The arithmetic worth knowing: once about $2,000 a month is going through the page, Growth at $147 costs you less than staying free, because the fee drops to 2.5%. Past that, free is the expensive one. Growth is also where a missed call texts the caller your booking page, which is the weekend rental you were in the cab for.

Who sets it up?

I do, from your own photos and rates, before you have agreed to anything. Nothing goes live until you have looked at it and said so.
