   The drop off is priced off their address

   They put in where the bin is going and the page works out the fee by road distance from your yard, not a straight line on a map and not a zone list that stops at the edge of town. One bin, one number, before they have called you.

   Nobody can choose to collect a bin themselves

   A roll off is not something a customer picks up, so a bin can be marked as always delivered. The page then asks for an address and offers no pickup at all, and an order that arrives without one is refused rather than landing on your schedule as a job you cannot do.

   One number off the ticket

   The scale weighs the truck loaded and empty and prints the net, so the waste is the only thing on it. You read one number. The field is called the scale ticket, you type what it says, and Haulbase does the rest.

   Both ways of billing weight, and it is one setting

   A few tonnes included and a rate over, or the dump fee passed through at cost with nothing included. They are the same arithmetic with the allowance filled in or left at zero, so whichever way you run it is a number in a box.

   Tonnes to two decimals, because the scale prints to ten kilos

   Overage is prorated by what the ticket says, not rounded up to the next tonne. Rounding 2.68 t to 3 invents three hundred and twenty kilos of somebody's money, which at a hundred and twenty five a tonne is a conversation you do not want to have.

   The bill goes out while the truck is still at the scale

   The weight, the tax and anything else owing come off the damage deposit you are already holding, or go out as a pay link by text or email. You are not writing it up that evening.

Why the allowance matters

A tonne is not a tonne. What the landfill charges you swings by what is in the bin, which is why a yard quoting one included weight across clean fill and mixed waste loses on one and overcharges on the other.

Nearly a threefold spread. Haulbase has no per material rates and is not getting them, because the answer a yard already uses is simpler: list a clean fill bin and a mixed waste bin as their own products with their own rates.

Straight answers

Do I have to photograph the scale ticket?

No, and nothing here reads one. You type the number off the ticket and Haulbase does the math against what the bin included, taxes it, and sends the bill.

What if I do not include any tonnage at all?

Then leave the allowance at 0, which is where it starts, and every tonne on the ticket is billed. That is the way a lot of yards run it, base rent and then the dump fee at cost.

I charge a flat week and then a cheaper rate per day after it. Can it do that?

Not today, and it is the most common bin price list there is, so it is worth saying plainly. Haulbase prices a run of days as the cheapest mix of day, week and month rates, which is right for a machine and wrong for a bin: a low day rate after day seven would undercut the week for anybody who booked eight days. It is on the list. What works now is a week price and a day price where the day does not undercut it.

Can somebody book a bin and pay in person?

Yes. Cash and e-transfer work the same as they always have and you mark those paid yourself. A card is only needed if you want a damage deposit held or the weight charged without chasing anybody.

What does it cost?

Free to start, no card. The platform fee is 10% of what a customer pays online through your page, and only when you actually get paid. Stripe charges you card processing at your own rate, separately, the same as anywhere you take a card. Growth at $147 a month drops the fee to 2.5% and adds texting, and it pays for itself once you are booking a couple of thousand a month online.

Who sets it up?

I do, from your own site and photos, before you have agreed to anything. Nothing goes live until you have looked at it and said so.
